The new Map Share functionality allows truck drivers to make corrections to their map by adding or changing access restrictions for roads based on dimensions and weight. This solution uses smarter navigation to plan better routes for drivers by featuring route information optimised for transport and logistics companies such as clearance heights, weight restrictions*, speed restrictions and avoiding problematic sharp turns.
With new functions TomTom Truck Navigation makes it possible for trucks to be kept away from small town roads and narrow residential areas and direct them to more appropriate roads where possible. Typical or maximum truck speeds are also taken into consideration and the expected arrival times are realistically calculated. All users have to do is enter their vehicle parameters, such as vehicle measurements or axle and total weight, into the TomTom Truck Navigation Solution.
You can still use this TomTom unit for your car also by selecting this in the vehicle type preferences.

Important: You must pay attention to all traffic signs, especially those relating to your vehicle’s dimensions and weight. We cannot guarantee you will never encounter them on your route and ignoring such restrictions can be dangerous.
